We saw in Colossians 2:4 the reason for Paul’s letter.                                                           I say this in order that no one may delude you with persuasive argument.                                                                         What could be a persuasive argument?

While subtle lies they are dangerous lies.                                                                                                     We are reminded in I Peter 3:15                                                                             to always be ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account                                                                        for the hope that is in you…                                                                                                                 that is the hope of Christ Jesus alone.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.  For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Amos – Closing Thoughts

Some closing thoughts on our study in Amos…for your meditations too…

Am I so self-centered in my personal & spiritual life that I may justly be numbered with the “fat cows”?  The Christian can be a parasite by continually demanding attention, and by taking all the fellowship the Church has to offer without accepting the responsibilities involved.  Am I an asset or liability to my fellow Christians?

I am to remember that I am guilty not only of the sins I commit but also of those I inspire.  God will hold me responsible for my impact on others.  I can lead others into wrong, pressure them into it, inspire them or oppress them!

What of my worship?  It may be scrupulous and full of ritual, yet completely worthless in the sight of God.  I may be sound in doctrine and full of intellectual knowledge of Scripture, yet barren of grace.  Even my giving, though extensive, may be futile!  Contrast Matthew 6:2 and Luke 21:1-4.

Are there things happening to me now that the Lord intends me to see as His disciples to call me back to Himself?  Famine, drought, pestilence, defeat may be a spiritual experience.  Is the Lord allowing these as warnings that I am drifting away from Him?

The following assortment of music is meant for your edification, to bless you.
