The Power of Knowing God…week 3

The Power of Knowing God…week 3

Our wrap up from this week’s study says it best…

Doesn’t it bring great peace and confidence to know that God knows everything, that there is no hiding from Him?  That He is all powerful?

There is nothing God cannot do, for He is the God of all flesh.  Nothing is impossible for Him as we saw earlier.  Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent – these attributes of God mean you are never along & never without help if you are a child of God.

Finish reading or rereading the Wrap It Up from this week’s lesson closing with the Scripture from Isaiah 43:1-3…Listen to what God has to say.

43 But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
“For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in your place.

Enjoy worshiping our God singing along with the songs that accompany our study this week.

The Power of Knowing God

ImageFor those who joined us in last week’s study, we saw in the book of beginnings – Genesis – that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.  We learned that all three Persons of the Godhead (referred to as the Trinity) were present at Creation, including God the Son.  All that exists, we are told, exists because of Him and through Him…

This week we looked at His sovereignty….His dominion is forever and ever…He is sovereign over all of the universe. We explored and discovered a wealth of insight into His attributes, His character and His relationship to His creation.

We learned that He is the God of all.  That He is worthy to be praised.  He will keep what is His and will use everything in our lives for His glory and our good. He is able.

Nothing absolutely nothing – nada – can happen without His permission.  Whether or not we understand it, God’s eternal purpose will be accomplished.  He tells us in Isaiah 46:11, “Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.  I have planned it, surely I will do it.”  Nothing that He created can stop Him…and aren’t you happy about that.  He is greater than all and sovereign over creation.  (My comments here are adapted and commented on from our study).

Feel free to sing along with the music included …sing of what we studied !!!
